First timmer, be gentle

Well after numerous complaints I am starting a blog. Since Emolyn and I are under house arrest I thought it would be the best way to keep you all up to date. Shawn and I have split her nighttime feeding schedule and I have late night. So, here is where I am spending my late nights. With Emolyn of course.
So this is my little string bean Emolyn Kate Thompson. She gets weighed tomorrow so I will have to update you but as of last week she was a hefty 3 lb 11 oz and finally home from spending her first month in the hospital, yuck! She could hit the 4 lb mark tomorrow but I am trying to keep my expectations low, any gain is good news. I will have to tell my whole Emolyn story when I can use both hands as there has been some confusion. But this is us getting started blogging!

house arrest?

We are sentenced to stay in due to her very small size. We have to avoid contact with groups of people because of germ exposure. So its a bubble of sorts.

I am so excited you have a blog!! Emolyn looks so cute - crossing my fingers for an amazing doctors appointment report.

Yea, I am so glad you have blog now. I read Linda and Miranda's all the time! I have started one, but haven't gotten very far yet. And it wouldn't let me add pictures for some reason. Good luck with Emolyn, the first few months are really tiring, but it gets better.

Yea! One baby item I would suggest is a sling. It would probably help when you are up late and wanting to snuggle but have your hands free! I got my a little late but Mya still loves it even at 30lbs! glad you guys are doing great!

Emolyn is THE most beautiful baby EVER! Really!
And you & Shawn are the most perfect parents for her! You guys are the best. So proud of you both!

I second the sling suggestion--I am a big fan of the babywearing. My friend's daughter was also a preemie and pretty much lived in a sling for her first several months home.

I have a Moby Wrap, which is a bit of a pain to put on, but so comfy.
